Tilcor has its roots grounded in the roofing industry since the mid 1900's.
We originally made concrete blocks and concrete tiles back in 1942, the business soon grew and became known as Ross Concrete Products, and later Ross Roofing. Over the last 70 years, the company has been evolved and transformed into a new stage called Ross Roof Group, which manufactures the Tilcor brand for America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Oceania

1942
Delta Tile Company owned by John Ross (centre) started making Concrete Tiles and Blocks by hand in Hamilton.
1946
Ross Roofing Ltd started making Concrete Tiles and Blocks in Takanini.
1958
Ross Roofing Ltd became one of the first agents in New Zealand for Decramastic Tiles and subsequently became the largest agent in New Zealand.
1973
Ross Roofing Ltd started manufacturing Longrun roofing in corrugated and decking type profiles as well as roll-forming spouting.
1976
Ross Roofing Ltd started manufacturing Longrun roofing in California, USA.
1989
Started Metrotile New Zealand Ltd and manufacturing stone-coated and pre-painted metal roofing tiles in Takanini.
1994
Started Ross Brick and Pavers Ltd and began importing bricks from Australia.
1998
Metrotile Europe was formed and began manufacturing steel tiles in Belgium.
2000
Metrotile USA was formed and began manufacturing steel tiles in California, USA.
2008
Ross Roofing, Rosscrete Concrete Tiles and Ross Brick and Tiles was sold to CSR Building Products.
2010
Sold shareholding in Metrotile USA and Metrotile Europe in order to expand the factory in New Zealand.
2011
Started Tilcor Roofing Systems to supply the European, USA, Africa and Middle East markets from our New Zealand factory.
2012
Opened an office in Dubai to service and manage the Africa and Middle East markets.
2014
Opened an office in Poland to service and manage the European market
2015
Opened offices in Japan to service and manage the Asian markets.
2015
Opened offices in America to service and manage the American markets.
2015
We celebrated our 25th anniversary of Metrotile New Zealand and completed further expansion of the New Zealand factory to accommodate the growth we were experiencing.
